The same tin of paint reads differently in a north-facing bedroom and a west-facing living room with floor-to-ceiling glass. In a city with this much daylight, that difference is dramatic.
Warm light pushes colours warmer
Strong afternoon sun exaggerates yellow and red undertones. A beige that looked calm on a swatch can read distinctly orange on a sunlit wall, so lean a shade cooler than you think you need in bright rooms.
Test big, test late
Paint an A3-sized patch rather than relying on a swatch card, and look at it again after dark under your own lighting. Small samples surrounded by white card always read lighter than the finished wall.
